The efforts of Zamboanga City to recover from last month’s crisis with the Moro National Liberation Front got a big boost Sunday from international artist-rapper Allan Pineda Lindo Jr. a.k.a. apl.de.ap.
Lindo, who has Filipino roots, was in Zamboanga City to help in the rehabilitation efforts, according toMayor Isabelle Climaco in a post on her Facebook page.
“Apl is in Zamboanga today to help in the rehabilitation efforts. He will help build classrooms in Barangay Talon-Talon,” she said.
The photo showed the mayor and Lindo discussing the situation of evacuees in various sites.
Also on Sunday, the mayor and officials discussed housing models for evacuees at City Hall.
The mayor’s Facebook page showed another photo where she was joined by Social Welfare Secretary Corazon Soliman for building classrooms in Barangay Talon-Talon.
Zamboanga City is still recovering from the effects of last month’s bloody encounters between government troops and some followers of Moro National Liberation Front founding chairman Nur Misuari.
Misuari’s followers occupied some areas of the city by taking civilian hostages but government troops eventually reclaimed these areas and declared the crisis over last Sept. 28. Full Story
