Abandoned kids by POGO workers to receive P200K sustenance per month from the government

At a glimpse, there are more than 300 Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) that operate in the Philippines, unfortunately, no more than 50 are registered with the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) and are running without securing their internet gaming license.

As such, the distressing issue at hand is what makes a POGO hub illegal, merely, when it is associated with illegal activities including scams, torture, human trafficking, and possibly even espionage and killings.

To address the remnants of POGO workers who got Filipino women pregnant and eventually abandoning the kids, the government states plan on shouldering the ancillary costs of abandoned kids of POGO workers.

The Senate of the Philippines has recently announced this plan of government to sustain abandoned kids of  POGO workers in the Philippines with Filipino women who were left behind by their Chinese fathers.

The scheme emphasizing the sustenance of abandoned kids of POGO workers was detailed by Philippine Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PA0CC) Spokesman Winston Casio during the plenary session held at the Lucky South 99 in Porac, Pampanga.

The press briefing conducted on August 5, 2024 was also attended by leaders of the House of Representatives spearheaded by Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez.

To recap, the said POGO hub was raided last month led by Romualdez which was found to be operating illegally. On July 22, President Marcos Jr. imposed a nationwide ban on all POGO sites stressing various crimes associated with the industry operation.

The PAOCC then initiates a briefing-consultation after the inspection tackling the budget that will be disbursed to the abandoned kids of POGO workers.

The commission also plans on paying the electricity bills of raided POGO hubs which were shut down with approximately Php5 million budget.

Casio stated that mothers who were left to fend for the abandoned kids of POGO workers are being brought to them asking for milk budget.

Although Casio did not specify the numbers who experienced such situations but said that there were numerous of them.

The PAOCC official added that they are allocating around Php200,000 to milk and such on a monthly basis for the abandoned kids of POGO workers.
