ALE Board Exam: Architects Board Licensure Examination Results – January 2017

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) will conduct examinations for Architects on January 27, 29, 2017 in Manila, Cebu, Baguio, Davao, and Legaspi. 

The Architect board exam covered the following subjects:

DAY 1

1. History and Theory of Architecture
2. Principles of Planning
3. Architecture Practice (30%)
4. Utilities Systems / Structural Conceptualization / Building Materials and Construction (30%)

DAY 2

1. Architectural Design and Site Planning (40%)

According to PRC, the results of the said exams, which includes complete lists of passers, topnothchers (top ten), top performing schools, and performance of colleges and universities, are expected to be released on February 1, 2017 or just three (3) working days after the last day of the examination.

The head for the January 2017 Architect Board Exam who will administered the examination, and will also act as Chairman, will be Arch. Robert S. Sac with two other members, Arch Fidel Jose R. Siapno and Arch. Robert M. Mirafuente.

The PRC announced that out of the 2,224 people who took the exam, 1,243 of them passed Architecture Board Examination which was given by the Board of Architcture in Manila last June 2016. The Top Three examinees had their highlights and are deserving of being noticed and recognized because they truly showcased excellence and skill. Jeff McDaniel See of University of Santo Tomas strived to be the highest with the rating of 84.00%. He was followed by Arjee Loui Jimenez, which is from the TUP– Manila with 83.10, and John Derick Dasugo from University of Bagiuo got the rating of 82.20%.

The online registration for the issuance of the Professional Identification Card (ID) and Certificate of registration will be announced later.

For Manila board passers, PRC is strictly implementing the online registration system for processing of appointment for registration effective March 30, 2016. Visit www.prc.gov.ph and follow the instructions for the initial registration.

The registration requirements are:

  • Duly accomplished Oath Form or the Panunumpa ng Propesyonal. (Date and venue of the oath taking of the board passers will be announced later as per PRC)
  • Latest or current CTC or cedula
  • 2 pieces of colored passport size pictures (colored with white background and complete with name tag with signature over printed name)
  • 2 sets of documentary stamps
  • 1 short envelope with name and profession

The final venue and date for the oath-taking ceremony of those who passed WILL BE ANNOUNCED LATER.

The practice of architecture is the act of planning, architectural and structural designing, specifying, supervising, and giving general administration and responsible direction to the erection, enlargement or alterations of buildings and architectural design of engineering structures or any part thereof, the scientific, aesthetic and orderly coordination of all the processes which enter into the production of a complete building or structure performed through the medium of unbiased preliminary study of plans, consultations, specifications, conferences, evaluations, investigations, contract documents and oral advice directions regardless of whether the persons engaged in such practice are residents of the Philippines or have their principal office or place of business in this or another country, and regardless of whether such persons are performing one or all of these duties, whether such duties are performed in person or as the directing head of an office or organization performing them.
