Google is Building a Website For Self-Checking COVID-19

With the uncontrollable amount of people being infected, the world is going on a frenzy. Hundreds of thousands, if not millions of people from all around the globe are afraid and are fearing the negative effects and the symptoms that the 2019 Coronavirus (COVID-19) brings.

In addition to that, several countries are on the move of acquiring testing kits that are to be distributed in different hospitals in their countries. Here in the Philippines, however, only 20,000 units of testing kits were acquired.

Good news, though, Google, one of the most famous and most known companies in the entire planet, has been reported to have been on the move to create and to innovate a website for self-checking COVID-19.

To help the world

Donald Trump, the President of the United States of America (U.S.A), has announced that Alphabet, the American multi-conglomerate company who owns Google, is building a website for self-checking COVID-19.

Numerous news that have unreliable information have been spreading throughout the country; all throughout the planet about the symptoms, effects, and how to distinguish the COVID-19.

With Google’s self-checking website, we can be confident that it’s going to be accurate.

In their Twitter confirmation, Google said that they are on the move of making this website for self-checking COVID-19 a reality. Verily Life Sciences, a project that Google X has started, initially was devoted to moonshot projects. Now, it has its own health unit which is being used to help people test for COVID-19.

Verily is in the early stages of development, and planning to roll testing out in the Bay Area, with the hope of expanding more broadly over time.”

Thanking Google and their capabilities

With the global pandemic, President Trump can’t thank Google enough for their initiative of helping individuals. Moreover, he declared a state of national emergency because of the fast-spreading and the dangers that the COVID-19 brings.

Trump also said that we can definitely rely on Google because they have a dedicated team of Engineers and software specialists who are devoted to the project. In fact, the team has made significant and relevant progress towards their plans and goals.

Our overriding goal is to stop the spread of the virus and help all Americans impacted by this. Again, we don’t want everybody taking this test. It is totally unnecessary. And this will pass.”

When will the website for self-checking COVID-19 be released?

Mike Pence, Vice President of the United States, said that the launch date for the website should be tackled, discussed, and released any time on late Sunday. He said that when the website is up, people can go to the website, jot their symptoms down, and they’ll be given directions and orders about their status.

In addition to that, Pence said that the website can help people be directed to certain locations where they can have drive-through testing.

You can go to the website, type in your symptoms and be given direction whether or not a test is indicated.”

Of course, akin to many other testing and assessments, Google’s website for self-checking COVID-19 can’t be fully reliable. The symptoms are very much likely similar to the symptoms of the flu and it’s something that people are still confused about.

Without proper tools, resources, and equipment, it’s really going to be challenging to distinguish COVID-19 from regular flu. But with Google’s website for self-checking COVID-19, it can and might be easier.
