EduRank, an independent metric-based ranking website recently released on February 29, a ranking of the Top 10 universities in the Philippines in 2024. The list unleashed was composed of 100 universities but we only culled the top 10 universities in the Philippines from the data. The rankings were based on research outputs, non-academic prominence, and alumni influence.
The rankings are also determined through the study of 500K citations hauled by 58.8K academic publications made by 229 universities from the Philippines. They also take note of the popularity of 1,093 recognized alumni, and the largest reference database available. Hence, below is the list of the top 10 universities in the Philippines this 2024. Did your school make it to the rankings?
1. University of the Philippines Diliman
Founded in 1908, topping off the list of the top 10 universities in the Philippines is the University of the Philippines Diliman located in Quezon. It also ranks 374 in Asia and 1367 in the World with an acceptance rate of 12%.
2. De La Salle University
Since its inception in 1911, De La Salle University situated in Manila ranks second in the top 10 universities in the Philippines which boasts an acceptance rate of 35%. It also ranks 507 in Asia and 1752 in the World.
3. Ateneo de Manila University
Located in Quezon, Ateneo de Manila University made it to the third spot in the top 10 universities in the Philippines. Since it was foudned in 1859, it pronounce an acceptance rate of 42%. It ranks 565 in Asia and 1931 in the World.
4. University of Santo Tomas
Here’s University of Santo Tomas hailing the fourth spot in the top 10 universities in the Philippines. With an acceptance rate of 90%, this university situated in Manila and founded in 1611 also ranks 836 in Asia and 2652 in the World.
5. University of the Philippines Los Banos
Established in 1909, University of the Philippines Los Banos achieves the fifth spot in the top 10 universities in the Philippines and possesses an acceptance rate of 15%. It ranks 927 in Asia and 2927 in the World.
6. University of the Philippines Manila
Who wouldn’t know University of the Philippines Manila? This school pioneered in 1908 has also ranked 927 in Asia and 2927 in the World.
7. University of San Carlos
In 1595, a school named University of San Carlos was introduced. Now, it was included in the seventh ranking of the top 10 universities in the Philippines, 1460 in Asia and 4230 in the World.
8. Asian Institute of Management
Makati has Asian Institute of Management which ranks eighth in the top 10 universities in the Philippines. With an acceptance rate set at 60%, the school launched in 1968 also ranks 1654 in Asia and 4667 in the World.
9. Mapua University
It’s been raining in Manila with Mapua University hailing the ninth spot of the top 10 universities in the Philippines. The acceptance rate of MU is at 78% and since it was founded in 1925, it also ranks 1669 in Asia and 4696 in the World.
10. Mindanao State University
Last but definitely not the least is Mindanao State University located in Marawi. It ranks 1707 in Asia and 4800 in the World. The acceptance rate is currently at 53% since it was introduced in 1961.
