As per Grab PH, they plan on providing tourists with an unforgettable experience; to offer a “safe, fun, eco-friendly way” to explore Intramuros without walking.

What is the importance of GrabWheels?

Other than the fact that tourists will be more encouraged to visit Intramuros, Berna Romulo-Puyat, Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary, said that by having e-scooters roam around the area, it will be a relevant way in promoting Intramuros in a way that is safe and fun.

Moreover, she said that its tourism can be boosted in such ways that it’s sustainable with less carbon footprint. Many tourists use different types of rides; some might even be open for commuting. With GrabWheels, the traffic can be reduced to a point where it’s not going to be congested in the area anymore.

NOTE: These e-scooters are only available around Intramuros if you’re going for a trip. These GrabWheels units will be open for people who will be visiting the site with less effort due to the two (2) wheel mobility device. It’s safer, more fun, and less tiring!

Beyond providing transport and services

Brian Cu, Grab Philippines President, said that Grab PH officials firmly believe that not only is their responsibility to expand the business; but also to provide services beyond transport.

Grab is present across eight different countries in Southeast Asia and downloaded in more than 150 million smartphones. We want to see how we will use this as a platform to educate our fellow Southeast Asian about the beauty and the wonders of the Philippines.”

Our country is truly a haven of the most daring and the most wonderful of natural scenery and destinations. With GrabWheels, our country’s tourism will greatly be boosted. It might just be what our capital is looking for.

What do you think about e-scooters all over Intramuros? Do you think that this is an effective way of committing to our country’s tourism and beauty? Would this be a drastic improvement and enhancement to how our country absorbs tourism?
