A 13-year-old boy from Oklahoma has taken a massive amount of attention after he reportedly beat the seemingly unbeatable game Tetris.
Nearly 40 years after it was released, the 13-year-old boy who stands by the name Willis Gibson was considered the first human gamer who made it to level 157 of the classic video game, as per CNN.
According to the 13-year-old boy, he had never expected to crash the game or defeat the game as he couldn’t feel his fingers after the game froze on the abovementioned level.
DailyNews stated that the 13-year-old boy was said to have finished the game a little over 38 minutes after reaching a “kill screen”.
The 13-year-old boy added that the game just automatically stops as the programmers don’t expect players to reach that certain high level.
If there’s an interesting fact about the 13-year-old boy, he reportedly won third in the 2023 Classic Tetris World Championship.
Meanwhile, the 13-year-old boy had asked for a little help from people in order for him to attend future gaming events by sending him some amount through a link.
Looking at the record, there are over 200 official variations of the Tetris game that have bee released in 70 different systems.
The mobile version of the Tetris game was developed by Electronic Arts way back 2006. This version has made it to the top selling video game of all time accumulutaing 100 million sales.
The Tetris game was built in 1984 by Alexey Pajitnov, a Soviet engineer who was also at awe with the early version. The game has become a sensation after it was made enduring enough to Cold War-era that it was turned into a movie for Apple TV+.
The mehanics of the Tetris game is quite simple. The player just needs to fit the falling blocks of several shapes together in order build solid rows. The game just become intense as the level goes up, the falling blocks also become faster and faster.
There have been no changes in the game throughout the years but the way it is played has faced some changes until 2011 where players concluded that level 29 was considered the highest possible because that level featured the fastest speed for the game.
